REC Institute Of Power Management and Training (RECIPMT)

Established under the aegis of REC LIMITED (Formerly Rural Electrification Corporation Limited) in 1979, REC LIMITED (Formerly Rural Electrification Corporation Limited) Institute Of Power Management & Training (RECIPMT) is an institute committed to educating and inspiring engineers and managers in the power sector. It envisages being at par with the international standards in power sector training. It organises several programmes and workshops on Technical, Management, Finance & Accounts, Information Technology and Energy Conservation in the power sector. A plethora of topical themes like Modernization and Management of Power Distribution Systems, Demand Side Management and End Use Efficiency, Metering, Billing and Collection, Total Quality Management, Project Management, Power Purchase Agreement, Power Sector Reforms, Project Formulation, Appraisal and Management of Thermal, Hydro and Gas Projects including Renewable Energy Sources, and Accounting Standards for Power Sector, are covered in the programmes.

Spirit lies in its consistent endeavour to provide extensive education, exposure and facilities to its students by providing them the opportunity to learn and interact with the front runners in the sector, as well as by equipping the campus with state-of-the-art facilities. The expertise of the faculty at the institute lies in a host of areas like Generation & Transmission, Renewable Energy, Power Reforms & Regulatory Affairs, Metering & Billing, Pilferage of Energy & Legal Aspects, PPA & Competitive Bidding, Financial Accounting, Formulation, Appraisal & Monitoring of Power Projects, Communications & Public Relations, and Project Management & Safety Management. The campus offers holistic development through its six training halls, a modern conference hall, 38 hostel rooms, prayer room, and yoga & fitness centre.

RECIPMT is the nodal agency for the National Training Programme, sponsored by Ministry of Power, aimed at providing requisite skills to C&D employees working in power distribution companies and trained 274976  across the country during 2009-2021. Further, having been empanelled by the Ministry of External Affairs, GoI in the financial year 2005-06 for conducting international training programmes. Since then, the institute has organised 102 batches of long duration, each varying from 2 -12 weeks duration,   and trained 1702 executives with participation from around 90 countries.

RECIPMT proudly asserts that through more than 2351  training programmes, it has trained close to 54 thousand engineers and managers from various power utilities like Generation, Transmission & Distribution Companies, Electricity Departments, Rural Electric Cooperatives, Regulatory Commissions, Rural Development Agencies, and Banks since inception.
